I'm Barb Egenhofer. I held the senior HR role in many different organizations, led large global teams, and opened and ran businesses of my own. Since 2016, Cardenta Consulting has been coaching leaders and teams, and helping organizations decide and execute where they want to go.
How I got here
For most of my career I sat on executive teams, not beside them. I was responsible for the people side of the business in global manufacturing, healthcare, and consumer products, and I saw up close what separates senior teams that excel from those that merely meet.
The difference was rarely just the talent. It was whether the people at the top trusted each other enough to disagree, held each other to what they'd agreed, and could admit when something wasn't working. Those are learnable. That's what I coach.
I bring a strategic mindset and a creative approach to the work, and I'm direct. Clients tell me the coaching is practical because I've had to make the same decisions they're facing, with the same constraints, as an executive and as an owner.

How I work
I work with the whole system: the individual leaders, the team, and the board. Whether it's helping a team of eight get good at the hard conversations or working with a CEO to make tough decisions, we are in it together.

And I stay. Most of my relationships run for years, because the work compounds and the execution and proven results are what matters.
Outside work
I'm an Adirondack native. I compete as a show jumper, and I spent years as a high-speed driving instructor for BMW. Both taught me the same thing coaching does: preparation, strong feedback, and grit = success. My family, community, horses, dogs and nature get the rest of my time.
